It was good to hear this podcast, because I had been perceiving the same way, watching the OPponents of Health Care Reform bully the PROponents – and succeed.

So it was uplifting to get confirmation that what I have perceived is not ‘just’ my experience of being a target that dominates my reasoning. What is disappointing is – is there any hope of permanent reform for health care, and in eliminating workplace bullying…..

On one hand, we’ve made great progress by having 16 (soon to be 17) states introduce some 55 versions of the WBI anti-bullying Healthy Workplace Bill. This makes our growing group of State Coordinators proud. However, no substantial bill has yet become law. The same business lobby that smothers lawmakers with lies and cash in the health reform debate also speaks out against anti-bullying legislation. The real trouble is that social change requires the involvement of government lawmakers who now believe, regardless of party, that what business wants, it deserves to get. And when business wants no more employee rights, then it is an uphill battle. Gary Namie

This podcast was very relevant, and part of me is heartened (I’m not alone in my stunned silence – how could this company be so blatant about their lies and their belief in their lies?), and I am saddened on the other (what was I thinking when I presented any facts at all to them?)
I appreciate there’s so much to learn. There’s so much work to do.
