HWB author Yamada on MSNBC

David Yamada, Suffolk Univ. Law Professor and author of the anti-bullying legislation for the U.S. — the Healthy Workplace Bill, appeared on MSNBC at 12:50 pm July 23. He distinguished clearly routine rudeness from malicious bullying that carries health-harming consequences. You can download Prof. Yamada’s publications from a link in the WBI Research Library and visit his blog for the New Workplace Institute.

Note the correct spelling of his name Yamada, not Yamata.

My boss wrote false evaluations about me. She twisted things I said like I said “you can not multitask when you are concentrating” she wrote on my evaluation Carol stated she does not know how how to multitask. She humilated me in front of my coworkers. She said I had to do a certain job in 5 minutes which no one else can do including me! She fired me after a 34 year career as a nurse. No one would listen to me HR,director of nursing, the C.O.E. you might as well talk to the wall! No one wants to hire me now the hospital put a complaint against my license that will take 6 to 8 months to clear. No job.no medical insurance no dignity no mental health and pretty soon no house if I dont get a job soon. So I say to the workers of America do not let what happened to me happen to you! Vote yes for HEALTHY WORKPLACE BILL.

i truly sympathize with anyone that has endured bullying harassment abuse. im coming from that empty dark place myself, im afraid some will mistake a poor evaluation or a brief reprimand alone as bullying.my bullies threatened, demeaned, ridiculed, taunted and humiliated me all day everyday. the more i complained the worst things got. the same day i turned in my written complaint i was physically assaulted by the department manager.a campaign to make the environment hostile and intolerable ensued and then a public lynching.noone stepped up to tell the truth they only looked at me with pity. thinking of those that standby and say nothing further erodes your psyche. further knowing the employer does not care to or refuses to properly investigate hurts you to your core. i took so much because i was trying to maintain financially but, i warn anyone experiencing this to run for your life because no job is worth this. you will wind up sick and unable to work anyway if you stay.
