Healthy Workplace Bill described on CNN

On July 26, Adam Cohen, Yale Law School lecturer and author of the Time magazine article about our bill, appeared on CNN American Morning show. He accurately described the Healthy Workplace Bill and discussed implications for employers without fear-mongering or hyperbole. Thank you, Adam, for reading the text of the bill and communicating your understanding. Original source.

  2. Karen Alfino says:

I’ve asked the national office of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to please support this Healthy Workplace bill. It’s too bad Colorado is not one of the seventeen states that are currently considering passing this – but maybe us Coloradians can ban together to change that!

    • Dr. Gary Namie says:

We have a Colorado Coordinator. Simply visit the CO state page at the HWB website and write to her via e-mail. We will connect you. She needs all the help she can get. Thanks for volunteering and for helping gain the AAUW endorsement.

    • Joyce says:

I have recently been forced to negotiation from my employer due to a workplace bully. My supervisor became angry and began a hostile environment and within two months managed to make me so miserable I agreed to resign. My employer is a major institution of higher educatin in Colorado. I am wondering if you have heard back from the AAUW? I am trying to get the state classified employees union interested.

      • Joyce says:

I just realized I meant to say I needed to negotiate my resignation from my place of employment due to my bully. It was either that or termination. This person seems to have a reputation for bad and vengeful behavior.

      • LB says:

I also had a similar ultimatum, “informally” made to me by my bully boss, which was, “quit or be fired”, and guess what?, yep, not one person in the entire organization did anything when I made formal complaints… what a system.
If there ever is any type of positive outcomes from being bullied, the only thing I can determine is that I am no longer idealistic, and I no longer believe that people are basically good.
Man, was I ever deluding myself all of these years!
I thank the bully for opening my eye’s to the reality of working life, eat or be eaten, and CYA.
Well, instead of playing that miserable game, I resigned, and yes it has been very traumatic, but I will never behave towards anyone the way in which the bully treated me, it’s disgusting.

I wish very seriously something would be done
to prevent any more bullying in the work place and
in the schools to keep our love ones safe.
please acknowledge this for every ones sake.
