No unions at a lot of jobs here in the US. "At Will" employment means, the door is always open for you to leave if you dont like what is happening at a company. With unemployment rates the way they are under current administration, people stick with the job to survive. It is not just "them", free to walk away and explore brighter opportunities, it is the food placed on the table before their very kids, the usuary of credit cards that enslave people. Far too many business owners lack the level of integrity to want anything more than financial increase. Employees are like necessary evils, better subjugated and controlled by a hierarchy of middle mgmt whose own career growth depends on their perpetuation of dismissing value of the employee, influencing "constant vacationer" business owners who are regularly absent from the workplace, thus, truly unaware of anything other than what is being presented by mid mgmt. When the obvious goal is to surpress earnings, and five out of seven people who are on their way out suddenly receive promotions and raises well beyond their paygrade, an employee like me, learns that he has entrusted his very livelihood to a cheap crook. The inflected promises of worthiness and value to be gained, by an employee for covering several job functions, simply becomes an overworked, underpaid employee watching his career go down the tubes so that a narcissistic nine year old of a "person who purchased a company" can exact his godliness on us underlings. I am the epitome of a bullied employee, and Ive sat on my bed at times with a gun in my hand thinking life was supposed to be different.
